What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for an inspirational, proactive and highly motivated practitioner who is committed to securing the best outcomes for our SEND students and is:
- Inspirational with the energy, drive, ideas and vision to help secure exceptional outcomes at all levels for SEND students
- A strong team player with outstanding interpersonal, communication and coaching skills
- Honest and reflective with the ability to be sharp with self-evaluation at different levels, being proficient in analysing and using educational data
- Able to support and challenge, hold colleagues to account and implement appropriate opportunities for sustained improvement
- Committed to demonstrating high levels of presence, impact, transparency, integrity and emotional intelligence
- An innovative, independent and strategic thinker, with the drive and ability to generate and implement fresh ideas to determine the strategic development of special educational needs (SEND) policy and provision in the school
- A self-manager who keeps themselves up to date with the educational developments around SEND provision
- Expected to meet the teachers’ standards, and either hold, or be willing to work, towards the national SENDCo qualification.
- Able to provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents, and other agencies.
- Expected to fulfil the responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the STPCD.
- Be a part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
- Support the ethos of and values of Oakley CE Combined School
- Interested in research-based approaches to improve the provision for pupils with SEND

At Oakley CE Combined School we are a friendly, forward-thinking team who put the needs of the children at the heart of all we do. Living our school values of Love, Honesty and Respect, we believe strongly that establishing the conditions for great learning are the foundation upon which our curriculum is built. We are now looking for a new SENCO/Inclusion Lead to become a part of the Oakley team to start in September 2023 (with the possibility of working alongside the current SENDCo in Term 6).
