Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator MPS/UPS + SEND Allowance job summary
Following the promotion of our current post holder, a rare chance has come up for someone to lead on the SEND provision across our amazing school. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher who has strong knowledge of supporting children with SEND. We are looking for someone with the passion and drive to lead this important part of our school. This is a non-class based post although you may be required to teach one lesson per day to some of our Key Stage 2 children. The post is supported by a minimum of two days admin time provided by an experienced TA. As SENDCo, you would be joining a dedicated team who put the needs of the child first and strive to achieve the very best for each individual.

We are looking for the right person:
• A Qualified Teacher with experience of leading on SEND and who has the National SENCo Award or is willing to work towards this
• Has thorough knowledge of the new SEND Code of Practice
• Is talented at working with pupils with a range of different abilities and needs, eg: LAC, EAL, PP
• Is committed to continually raising standards in teaching and learning and is ambitious for the achievement of SEND children
• Has the ability to lead staff in developing their knowledge and expertise in working with SEND children
• Can lead and deliver professional growth for Teaching Assistants who work with SEND children
• Has excellent communication skills and an ability to work within a team
• Works well with parents and other stakeholders
• Has good management and organisational skills
