Long Sutton County Primary School is excited to be recruiting a talented and motivated individual to join us as our SENCo and Inclusion Lead.
Job title: Special Educational Needs and disabilities coordinator (SENCO) & Inclusion Lead
Salary: £ 25 715-£ 41 605 (+£2 270 SEN Allowance pro rata)
Hours: 1.0 FTE - 0.6 SENCO with two days teaching commitment (no class responsibility)
or 0.6 SENCo
Contract type: Permanent
Start date: 1st September 2022 or 1st January 2023

About the role
The post holder will:
• have strategic oversight of our provision for our children with SEND and others who are vulnerable to underachievement.
• support all staff in identifying, assessing and planning to meet the needs of all vulnerable pupils.
• develop, evaluate and implement the academy’s Special Educational Needs policy and provision, leading on the deployment of resources.
• liaise effectively with parents/carers and a range of specialists and agencies to plan and evaluate provision.
• lead the provision for SEND, including managing our team of Teaching Assistants.
• act as a deputy designated safeguarding lead and be the designated teacher for looked after and previously looked-after children within the school.
About you
You will:
• Be a qualified teacher with QTS and a track record of good or better practice
• Be enthusiastic, driven and able to show initiative
• Be well organised and can manage timescales and deadlines effectively
• Have excellent leadership and management skills.
• Work well as part of a team and in partnership with professionals and parents.
• have an excellent understanding of the Code of Practice and its related processes.
• be able to lead by example in your manner and delivery of targeted support and interventions.
• be confident in providing support by advising and guiding staff to ensure children successfully make the next steps in their learning.
• be passionate about providing high quality SEND education and provision across the school.
• already have the National Award for SEN Coordination, or have a willingness to complete it within 2 years of appointment
