Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) Bohunt Horsham job summary

Our SENDCo will have overall responsibility for provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities; they will run a growing team of committed learning support assistants and lead the direction and quality of teaching and learning in this key area. Teachers of any subject area, from either secondary or primary background are invited to apply. We are a new and growing school and this is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher who aspires to whole school leadership in a role that will eventually lead provision for students from ages 4-16. Potential is as important as experience. This role will be supported by the senior leadership team and will benefit from experienced cross trust leadership. We are looking for somebody to start between Easter and September 2021.

Bohunt Horsham, part of Bohunt Education Trust (BET), opened in temporary accommodation in September 2019 with 120 students in Year 7 and we now have 240 students in Years 7 and 8. The school will grow to a roll of 1620 students, aged 4-16. We intend Bohunt Horsham to be a true all-through school with opportunities for cross phase teaching and the sharing of pedagogical practice and research across primary and secondary provision, offering our students opportunities for leadership and mentoring.
