What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to appoint a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO) to join our Bramford team. As SENDCO, you will work with the school’s senior leadership team on the strategic development of the special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) policy and provision. You will take day-to-day responsibility for co-ordinating specific provisions for individual pupils with SEND, including those with education, health and care (EHC) plans. You will work closely with staff and parents and promote the inclusion of pupils with SEND within our school.
You will be:
- A qualified teacher;
- An excellent classroom practitioner and able to model best practice at all times;
- Knowledgeable and passionate about SEND and how children develop and learn;
- An excellent communicator with great teamwork skills;
- Organised and efficient;
- Positive and able to inspire and motivate others;
- Able to deal with challenges in a sensitive, positive, emotionally responsive manner supporting the difficulties and needs of individuals;
- Willing to complete any training relevant to the role and committed to the role.
