Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Leader job summary

The Headteacher and Governors of The Epiphany School are looking for applications from enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who are committed to successful inclusion within our mainstream primary school. We are looking to appoint someone who reflects the school’s high standards and is committed to ensuring that all pupils receive an education that allows them to fulfil their full potential and equips them for their next stages in learning and life.

We wish to appoint a SEND Leader who has vision, ambition and a drive to positively impact on our children’s education. The appointed candidate will need to lead a strong support staff team to maintain the highest standards of education, alongside excellent pastoral care for identified children. They will also be required to promote good relationships and effectively communicate with all stakeholders, including parents, carers, staff, external professionals and governors.

We wish to appoint someone who:
• Has a desire to uphold and actively promote the school’s Christian vision and values
• Has a commitment to equal opportunities and securing good outcomes for pupils with SEN or a disability
• Is an excellent communicator who works well as part of a team
• Is committed to ongoing professional development

Applicants should hold Qualified Teacher Status and the National Award for SEN Co-ordination (or have a willingness to complete it within 3 years of appointment).
