Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, dedicated and forward-thinking Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator to join our well-established nursery team within our SEND provision. The role will be varied and will include working with pupils with individual needs; overseeing the creation and implementation of individual plans to enable pupils to access the curriculum; reviewing and assessing pupil progress and targets; liaising with external agencies and providing pastoral support to pupils and their families. This will be a fulfilling and rewarding role where you will be making a difference to children’s learning and progress. This is a brilliant opportunity for any candidate who wishes to further their career in our highly successful federation of nursery schools. As Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, they will support the team with implementing all safeguarding policies and practices.
We are looking for applicants with strong communication skills who will be able to build and maintain respectful and effective relationships with staff, children and their families. You will be motivated and resilient with excellent organisational, interpersonal and time management skills
The ideal candidate:
- Has experience of SEND teaching
- Has led school improvement initiatives and is committed to achieving high standards
- Possesses outstanding communication skills and can work well in teams
- Has a thorough understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues
- Experience within a leadership capacity

Flexible working or job share would be considered.
Contract type: Permanent, 52 weeks, shift pattern- early (8am-4.15pm) late (9.45am-6pm)
Salary: Grade I, SCP 22–26 (£31,364 - £34,834 FTE)
Annual leave: 26 days plus bank holidays
