Why is FCC the place for me?

Faringdon Community College is a popular 11 to 19 mixed comprehensive school located on the edge of Faringdon, a picturesque market town in Oxfordshire. The school is situated on a large, attractively landscaped site with an excellent range of specialist classrooms and facilities. A number of exciting building projects are planned to increase capacity and further improve the facilities for our students and staff.

The recently developed ‘FCC Promise’ encapsulates the school’s vision and ethos, with some key elements highlighted below:

At Faringdon Community College we thrive through our core values of ‘belong, believe, aspire, achieve’. We nurture belonging, empathy and respect as a happy, caring and inclusive school. We believe that every member of the FCC community can achieve great things. Together we build belief and optimism so that everyone has the courage and confidence to develop as learners and leaders. Our high aspirations cover all aspects of the school experience. We want everyone to be ambitious, developing determination and resilience through a rich range of opportunities and mutual support. This underpins everyone’s personal achievement and our achievement as a school. We want everyone to flourish at FCC, in lessons, clubs and activities, in examinations and beyond.

At FCC everyone matters and makes a difference. We celebrate individuality and diversity alongside the values we have in common as a community. We are proud to be a school for the whole of the wider Faringdon community, embracing FCC’s special qualities as an international school through our links to local military establishments. At FCC you will understand the importance of being an ally and advocate, playing an active part in making your community and the world a better place, at FCC and for life.

At FCC you will know that you are part of something special and that you are special too. You will enjoy the sense of pride that comes with knowing you have achieved your best. You will enjoy the benefits of belonging, inspiring the belief and aspiration to achieve great things each day and on the way to your very bright future.
