What skills and experience we're looking for
The department consists of an Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Inclusion, a SENDCO (role advertised), two deputy SENDCos and an SEND manager. Within the department we also have a specialist literacy teacher, an ASC specialist (whose role also spans across other schools), and a team who are responsible for running our ‘Skills for Life’ provision which is a qualification that runs in place of a GCSE. The Thomas Hardye School also has two resourced provisions, including one for students with complex communication needs and one for students with physical disabilities. These provisions are led by their respective base leaders, but the SENDCo has oversight of them. We require a successful, innovative leader with a strong understanding of how a school supports students with SEND to achieve their potential.
