To meet the increasing demand for SEND provision within Bradford, Co-op Academy Delius are looking to recruit more motivated and enthusiastic Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team. All successful candidates will have an initial induction period.
You will need to be highly skilled, dedicated and passionate about supporting our pupils, and each other and recognise the importance of working in partnership with parents and other professionals as well as enhancing our links in our local community and beyond.
As our Special Needs Teaching Assistant you will have experience of supporting children to develop and thrive and working with pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. Ideally you will have experience of behaviour management strategies, using hoists and physical positioning, therapy and health interventions strategies.
This role is customer facing and therefore in line with the Immigration Act 2016; all applicants must be able to demonstrate fluency of the English Language to the level defined in the Job Description.
Candidates invited to our recruitment day will be expected to complete several tasks; be observed in the classroom and be interviewed, in order to recruit staff of the highest professional quality.

Job Purpose:
Complement and proactively support the teacher in delivering effective teaching, learning, assessment and recording.
Complement and proactively support the delivery of care, support programmes, interventions and therapies (including feeding, personal hygiene, mental health, physical health and behavioural).
Support the class teacher in the planning and delivery of an appropriately differentiated and suitably challenging creative curriculum for all pupils whilst meeting statutory requirements.
Work within school policies, procedures and code of conduct under the direction and guidance of senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision (and delegation). This will include but is not limited to;
‘Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy’ in line with Part 1 of the statutory guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education.
‘Supporting Children with Medical Conditions Policy’ including infection control policies and Procedures including Bare below the Elbows.
Acting in accordance with the Data Protection Act and maintaining confidentiality at all times e.g. access to staff, pupil, parent and career files.
All successful candidates will have an initial induction period.
An enhanced DBS Certificate with barred list check will be undertaken.
