The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Academies Trust (SENDAT) is a Multi Academy Trust focusing on specialist provision and special schools. Its core aim is to provide for the continuum of special needs across the Eastern region.  All SENDAT schools and alternate provisions have Trauma Informed practices embedded across the curriculum and SENDAT staff colleagues are given training and support to develop and use these skills in their day-to-day working.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Special Teaching Assistant (STA) to join the Peile Centre, a separate school of two classes of 10-12 KS3-4 students with Moderate Learning Difficulties, based adjacent to Chantry Academy. This is a joint project between SENDAT, the Active Learning Trust and Suffolk County Council

The successful candidate will support students at Peile where the curriculum offer is designed around the needs of students.  Students have individual pathways and where appropriate access mainstream classes for specialist subjects, supported by an STA from Peile.

You will work as part of a close-knit and supportive SENDAT team to provide a safe and secure educational and caring environment for students with moderate learning difficulties.   You will help ensure that they receive specialist teaching and support tailored which meets their individual needs and facilitates their academic progress and personal development.

As a SENDAT employee, you will be instrumental in providing a real, positive impact on the educational and life outcomes for students with SEND.
