Further information about the job
Are you a visionary practitioner with a passion for Autism (ASC) and early communication? We are partnering with the Local Authority to open a brand-new specialist base this September, and we need a founding teacher to help turn the blueprint into a reality for our EYFS and Year 1 learners.
You will be the specialist lead for this provision. You will oversee the creation and review of EHCPs, coordinate with external agencies (Speech & Language, OT, and Educational Psychologists), and ensure that our provision meets every statutory requirement with excellence.
The Launch: Work alongside the Senior Leadership Team and Local Authority partners to prepare the environment and curriculum for a September start.
The Practice: Deliver high-quality, specialised EYFS/KS1 teaching that prioritises communication, sensory regulation, and social emotional development.
The Advocacy: Act as a specialist lead within the school, modeling best practices for ASC and supporting the wider staff team.
The Partnership: Build deep, trusting relationships with parents and external professionals (Speech & Language, OT) to ensure a holistic "team around the child" approach.
Because this is a brand-new provision, we are working on an accelerated timeline to be ready for our September pioneers. As the physical setting is currently being transformed into a specialist hub, we are unable to offer site visits at this stage. However, we don't want that to stop you from getting a feel for our vision! We highly encourage prospective candidates to contact the school office to arrange an informal phone call or meeting with our Headteacher, Lottie Harriman. This is a great opportunity to discuss the roadmap for the base and how you might fit into our founding team. School Office: 0151 546 3140.
