Specialist Instructor job summary

The purpose of this job is to complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision, consistent with the aims of the school.

This role will be based in our EMPOWER Provision which is a tailored provision designed to re-engage reluctant or disengaged learners through a bespoke tailored curriculum which aim is to reintegrate these young people into mainstream lessons.

Activities will involve planning, preparing and deliveringlearning lessons as well as monitoring pupils, assessing, recording andreporting on pupils’ achievement, progress and development. There will also be line management responsibility of other Teaching Assistants and Support Staff within the classroom and may be specific responsibilities for the management and development of key areas within the department and school.
