- Full time: Hours of Work: 37 hours per week - all year round, although Term Time Only plus additional weeks would also be considered. We are a flexible working employer.

- Fixed term - Secondment Opportunity - Fixed Term contract until 31st August 2025, potential for further secondment after this date.
Pay scale
- NJC Scale N: £48,471- £52,504 (FTE)
What skills and experience we're looking for
- Excellent working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice

Significant measurable impact working with children and
young people, especially those with Special Educational
Needs, particularly Social, Emotional, and Mental Health
(SEMH) needs.
- Successful experience of leading initiatives to engage learners with SEND and raise student achievement

Proven success of implementing specialist strategies to
address difficulties in a range of areas including
communication, social interaction, sensory regulation,
and extremes of behaviour
- Able to lead, inspire, motivate, and engage staff and students.
- Knowledge of effective behaviour and attendance management strategies

The Specialist Leader for Access and Inclusion for the Harrogate, Knaresborough and Ripon Locality will assume a pivotal role in spearheading initiatives aimed at enhancing student attendance across Primary and Secondary schools. This strategic position necessitates close collaboration with the Local Authority, school leaders, attendance officers, and all stakeholders to combat persistent absenteeism, harmonise attendance policies, and offer specialised support for students with Special Educational Needs.
Accountable and responsible to the Harrogate, Knaresborough and Ripon Locality Board, this role is based at Harrogate High School.
