What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking an experienced teacher to provide advice, consultancy and targeted intervention, including direct teaching, for children with SEMH needs and staff working with them in schools and other settings. In this role you will also design, prepare and deliver a variety of training and support to school staff.
We are looking for a skilled and experienced primary school practitioner with a good understanding of how to address SEMH needs and reduce challenging behaviour.
Key Requirements
- Qualified teacher status (essential)
- Additional recognised SEN qualification (desirable)
- Understanding of SEMH needs and of approaches to meeting them in a mainstream school setting
- Knowledge of the Code of Practice for SEN, including the statutory assessment process and legislation relating to children and young people
- The ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- The skills to help school staff to develop their capacity to support children with SEMH needs
- The ability to plan, organise, and deliver effective training

You will be working as part of a supportive team of fellow Specialist Teachers, with whom you will have weekly meetings to discuss your work, access advice, share concerns and celebrate successes.
You will be able to draw on the specialist knowledge of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.
You will receive regular supervision from a psychologist specialising in SEMH needs.
You will be based at Robson House, located on the Netley Campus in Camden, which benefits from excellent transport links and allows easy access to all the amenities and attractions of central London.
