Who we are:
We are a successful, dynamic and forward thinking science department with a strong emphasis on developing teachers in their subject specialism. The team are constantly reflecting and sharing ideas. Heads of subject regularly hold CPD on their specific areas based on feedback from the team with the aim being to improve and refine subject knowledge in preparation for the new GSCE and A Level qualifications. Our customised KS3 syllabus enhances our pupils' ability to become successful GCSE students through a spiralled curriculum that reinforces key scientific concepts and progressively builds upon them to GCSE. This method has a demonstrable impact with progress in Science being +0.62, placing us in the top 6% of schools fro science results nationally.
The department prides itself on its innovation and excellence in moving practice on to support student development.

Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a motivated and inspiring teacher who is a specialist in Biology, Chemistry or Physics and will be able to teach their specialism to students of all abilities up to A Level and the ability to teach general science up to Key Stage 3. Candidates will need excellent planning skills, good classroom management and be able to teach in a variety of teaching and learning styles. We are mostly looking for a like-minded candidate whose philosophy of education is based on developing STEM education and scientific thinking and who is prepared to deliver this to students from a wide range of backgrounds.
