Specialist Support Assistant Level 3 job summary

Thank you very much for your interest in the Level 3 Specialist Support Assistant role at Christ the King. The role will be based in Key Stage 2 initially until July as the classroom support assistant whilst supporting pupils within the class that have additional needs, although this may change next academic year. The position is fixed term for 12 months in the first instance.

The role advertised requires the successful candidate to show a strong knowledge and understanding of how pupils learn most effectively, an ability to support pupils who need additional support accessing this curriculum, an understanding of communication and language needs as well as an ability to support emotional regulation. There is also an expectation that this role may be called upon to deliver cover supervision across the school, on a short term/emergency basis. This is not a “cover supervisor” role, but from time to time classes are covered by this role in our school. Support is always given to planning time and additional SSA support within the classroom when delivering.

Our motto here is “Believe, Belong, Become.” Staff embrace this vision for our pupils and school wholeheartedly. We work hard to engage our pupils to believe in the words Jesus taught us, belong to our community in faith and strive to become the best that they can be.
