Trinity School is an all age (3 to 19) modern, vibrant Special School catering for the needs of students who have a wide range of learning difficulties including; moderate, severe, profound and complex. A number of our pupils also have an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

What the school offers its staff

The School is looking to recruit a Specialist Teaching Assistant - Complex Medical Needs & Medical Administrator to start as promptly as possible. Applicants could be appointed to work in the Primary, Secondary or Sixth Form Phases of our School. The role is open to current Scale 6 Medical Teaching Assistants.

We are seeking a dedicated Specialist Classroom Assistant with expertise in supporting pupils with complex medical needs. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching and senior staff to implement care/support programs, ensuring access to learning and upholding the dignity of each student.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Undertake specialist enhanced healthcare procedures for pupils with complex medical needs.
  • Lead colleagues through medical crises and provide life-saving duties when necessary.
  • Manage the administration of medical data, records, and care plans.
  • Support logistics of whole school medical training.
  • Tracheostomies, suctioning procedures, nasal gastric tube feeding, oxygen support, and more.
  • Attend and support cross-class working in emergencies
  • To maintain and update administrative documents related to pupil medical needs.
  • Support care plan renewal and logistics of whole school medical training.
  • To work with the deputy head, the nursing team and various professionals in delivery of the above.
