What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to appoint a Specialist Teaching Assistant, to work as part of a curriculum department to support literacy and reading. It is likely that the successful candidate will be screening and working with small groups of students and will be intervening using the Ruth Miskin programme, for which full training will be given. The successful candidate may also be asked to work on other reading interventions. This is a superb opportunity to work with other colleagues and potentially transform the lives of children, removing the barriers that are created when reading is difficult.
The successful candidate must haveLevel 2 qualifications in English and Maths or equivalent and meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualification or demonstrable experience, and possess strong IT skills, be a good communicator, approachable and have a positive attitude towards staff and students.
