Speech and Language Teacher job summary
We are looking to appoint a class teacher to teach in our Speech and Language Centres (1 day in EYFS/KS1, Wednesday and 2 days in KS2 Thursday & Friday.)
The successful candidate will be passionate about working with children with SLCN, will work effectively with colleagues at Carden and in health, education and social care as well as in partnership with parents . They will be committed to promoting inclusion. They will demonstrate a sound knowledge of child and language development, have had recent experience of working with children with SLCN and ideally have taught in a mainstream setting. They will have had experience in using Makaton and a working knowledge of Cued Articulation would also be beneficial but not essential.

Carden is a two form entry primary school with a nursery. The school is very inclusive and has a strong, caring ethos. At Carden we have two specialist provisions for children with Speech, Language and Communication needs: Reception/Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. These provide intensive specialist teaching and therapy for 22 children in total from across Brighton and Hove.
