What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Level 3, Grade 5 Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to support childrenwithSpeech, Language & Communication needs (SLCN).Needs may include: attention and listening difficulties, receptive and expressive language difficulties, problems with interaction, vocabulary deficit, speech sound production and use.
Previous experience of working with children who have special educational needs, disabilities and social and emotional needs is desirable, however a full training package can be offered to the successful candidate.
Your salary range will be £16,885 to £18,157 per annum. You will work 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year on a permanent contract.
You will:
- Be an effective practitioner with the ability and desire to improve their practice
- Have high expectations of yourself and others
- Have a proven record of working in partnership with class teachers which has resulted in good attainment and progress for children
- Have experience of working with SEN children
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Be highly organised, motivated and flexible with the ability to inspire and challenge children
- Be able to promote the vision and values of the school, demonstrating high professional standards.
- Good influencing skills to encourage pupils to interact with others and be socially responsible.
- Have the ability to relate well to children and adults, understanding their needs and being able to respond accordingly.
