What skills and experience we're looking for

Following growth in our school, we are expanding our therapy team and seeking Speech & Language Therapists who want to support the development of our excellent provision for autistic young people. Our therapy team will provide support and supervision with highly experienced and knowledgeable therapists. At Phoenix, there are many opportunities to work alongside our multi-disciplinary team. Phoenix School is a well-established with over 500 Students. It is an Outstanding (Ofsted 2024) special school for autistic students aged 3-19. The school offers a unique service to the children of Tower Hamlets. We are an award-winning school and accredited through the National Autistic Society; praised for our creative approach to working with autistic students. Phoenix was awarded a commendation for its excellent work across the school.

The Role

As a dynamic and motivated SaLT

  • You will be able to work creatively and collaboratively, making the most of the extensive resources and expert support we have available.
  • You will carry out assessment and manage your own caseload with the supervision from a senior therapist
  • You will plan and deliver engaging therapeutic interventions on a daily basis, developing exciting and innovative methods that stimulate curiosity and create excitement with the students.
  • You will support and develop the nurturing environment designed around each individual’s needs, where personal development and wellbeing are as important as the academic curriculum.
  • You will support the embedding of communication and interaction opportunities across the school environments to enable students to communicate their needs, interact with others, make choices and contribute to the world around them.
  • You will build emotional regulation and resilience for all in order to promote positive mental health and wellbeing outcomes.
  • You will collaborate with a range of professionals to support meaningful opportunities and outcomes
  • You will build caring relationships, providing a friendly and warm welcome to our parents, governors and the wider community.
