Speech and Language Therapist job summary

Are you passionate about supporting children’s communication and language development? Do you have expertise in working with pupils with ASD and a commitment to inclusive practice? Are you looking to gain experience working with children with a range of communication strengths? Aspire school is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and motivated Newly Qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly and supportive team.

You will play a key role in embedding our vision for communication across the school, working collaboratively with staff, pupils, and families.

At Aspire school we believe that learning needs to be individual for all and aspirational for everyone.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing, planning, and delivering specialist speech and language interventions
  • Supporting curriculum planning and delivery to integrate communication strategies
  • Providing training and support for staff and parents
  • Developing specialist knowledge in ASD and sharing best practice
  • Contributing to school improvement projects and service development

We are looking for:

  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration.
  • A genuine commitment to improving the lives of young people through speech and language support.
  • Experience of delivering assessments and interventions in a range of approaches relating to ASD and speech and language needs
  • Experience of working in mainstream and/or specialist schools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Clear communicator with adults and children
  • A positive role model to all

We are looking for the right applicant and would consider applications from those wanting full/part time hours. This is a permanent term time(38 weeks per year plus 5 training days). An all year round, part-time position maybe considered for the right applicant. The full-time, year-round salary (including SEN allowance) from Sept 25 is £31,888 - £35,236. This amount represents the full-time equivalent salary and will be adjusted pro-rata based on actual hours and weeks worked for term-time only.
