Do you have experience working with children to support their Speech & Language development?
We are recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to work across the full primary age range. We are a two-form entry primary school with a higher than average number of children eligible for pupil premium funding, as well as a higher than average proportion of pupils with Special Educational Needs.
Working under the direction of our SENCO, the successful applicant will be able to deliver high quality speech and language intervention ‘Speechlinks’ in Early Years, Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2.
Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
The ideal candidate will:
• Have relevant qualifications and experience in working with children
• Have practical experience of working with small groups or one-to-one
• Be flexible in their approach to the needs of the children
• Have high expectations of all children
• Be willing to take part in relevant CPD in order to support the children
• Be able to work with outside agencies and communicate with parents
• Be able to be flexible and adapt day to day
Additional requirements:
• Two references confirming suitability for the role
• Commitment to safeguarding
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Able to provide evidence of police checks for any time spent living or working abroad
