Speech & Language Therapist job summary

Are you passionate about supporting children with autism, complex needs and SEMH? We’re looking for a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join our dedicated Therapy Team.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping our communication provision, delivering impactful interventions, and working closely with staff and families to meet the diverse needs of our pupils.

Who We’re Looking For

- Experienced in special educational needs (SEN) settings.

- Is familiar with Widgit, Sign Along, and the Total Communication Approach, recognising that communication includes speech, signs gestures, facial expressions, body language, symbols, pictures, written words, and technology.

- Knowledge of Intensive Interaction and can deliver individualised interventions using pupils’ IEP targets.

- Is confident using low-tech and high-tech AAC systems, including Proloquo2Go.

- Can support the development of EHCP Communication & Interaction targets, working closely with colleagues.

- Works collaboratively with class teams, modelling and implementing strategies that support pupils’ communication needs.

- Is able to provide CPD to staff, sharing best practices and building team confidence in communication strategies.
