Speech & Language Therapist job summary

The Wythenshawe Catholic Academy Trust has an exciting new opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist to support pupils’ speech, language and communication skills across all schools with this growing Multi-Academy Trust.

We are seeking a confident, capable and experienced practitioner to work across: Saint Paul’s Catholic High School, St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School, SS John Fisher & Thomas More Catholic Primary School and St Elizabeth’s Catholic Primary School. These schools are all based in the Wythenshawe area of Manchester and are within a short drive of each other.

The Trust is growing and looking forward to the expansion of our network of schools across the wider region over the next 3 years so a willingness to travel to other schools in greater Manchester is essential.
The Trust has an above the national average number of pupils with SEND, therefore we are excited to be taking this innovative approach to providing support and specialist advice to our pupils and their families.

The successful candidate will have:
• Health and Care Professionals Council and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists registration
• A passion for supporting children and delivering assessments and direct therapy to pupils from nursery to Year 11, who have a range of speech, language and communication needs.
• Innovative ways of sharing your skills, including the training and overseeing of existing support staff delivering speech and language programmes in each school.
• The ability to work across the schools to deliver training or coaching for teachers, SENCos and SEND teams, as well as support with monitoring the impact of school based interventions.
• A passion for supporting the most vulnerable pupils within our Trust
• A proven track record of working collaboratively with different stakeholders to improve outcomes for pupils
• Strong moral and ethical principles and values
• The ability to adapt and respond positively to challenging situations
