Sports Assistant job summary
An enthusiastic and suitably qualified assistant is required to join our PE & Games department as soon as possible for the rest of the academic year, in the first instance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone considering teacher training in the future.
The School has an excellent reputation in its traditional major games, especially rugby, cricket, athletics, swimming, water polo and Eton Fives. Our annual Rugby Sevens tournament attracts entries from all over the country. There are excellent facilities in our extensive grounds, including a 25m 8 lane swimming pool and a multi-purpose sports hall.
The post is suited to candidates with the ability to extend, challenge and develop our most able performers, and who also possess the ability to inspire and nurture a love for sport in every pupil in the school. All successful candidates will be expected to make a significant contribution to both the delivery of physical education and the coaching of sports teams. They should have significant expertise in at least one of our core sports. Experience of coaching and umpiring cricket, ahead of the summer term, would be particularly helpful.
This is a full-time position, initially on a fixed-term basis until July 2023. Applicants should be able and willing to assist with Saturday fixtures.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience within the range of £24,415 - £26,779 per annum.
Applications should be submitted as soon as possible.
