We are seeking an enthusiastic, positive and motivated individual to be our Sports Coach to work at King’s Hedges Educational Federation.
Pay Scale: Level 5 Points 12 - 17 (£27,711 - £ 30,060 FTE)
Hours: 32.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 3.30pm
Fixed Term contract until August 2026
Weeks: Term-time only
We are looking to appoint an experienced Sports Coach who has the passion and skills to support our children to progress in their physical education journey. The right individual needs to be enthusiastic, inspirational, and have the drive to improve the physical education and activity of our children. This role will include teaching our broad and ambitious curriculum to children from nursery to year 6. Our curriculum includes Fundamentals, Games, Dance, Gymnastics, Athletics, Swimming, Outdoor Adventurous Activities and throughout an understanding of health and fitness, safety in sport, tactics and evaluation of performance.
To be a successful member of our team we are looking for an individual who:
- Is a qualified sports coach (or willing to embark on training) with experience of teaching primary-aged children.
- Willing to use a range of teaching methods to support learning.
- Works successfully in a team and has effective communication skills.
- Has an understanding of what a high quality lesson looks like.
- Has a thorough understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues.

All shortlisted candidates whose role will involve the responsibility for the provision or management of such childcare (including teaching) shall be required to declare that they are not disqualified from undertaking such work.
