Sports Coach job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Sports Coach to work in our lovely school delivering high quality P.E lessons, as well as enrichment clubs, both after school and at lunchtime.
St Mary’s isn’t just a school; it’s a brave, forward-thinking family in which children come first. Staff here know that their work can change lives and because of this, we strive to be at the forefront of primary education. We aim to cultivate a real thirst for sports and need someone to help us defeat the competition! As a Sports Coach, you’ll use your knowledge and skills to help us to establish the highest quality sports provision; in return we’ll provide you with valuable insight into the dynamics of school life.
To support you in this role, we will:
• provide a personalised professional development programme
• allocate you a mentor to provide advice and guidance
• Provide a comprehensive employee-assistance programme
Our research-based approach to learning, progressive curriculum and innovative learning environments make us unique - just take a look at our website! Likewise, we’re looking for someone who also stands out from the crowd: someone with the altruism and authenticity to inspire others and advocate for our children. This is a competitive role, not one for the half-hearted or the opportunistic! It requires professional capacities and commitment. Nonetheless, you’ll find reward in our warm-hearted character, collegiate approach and, most importantly in working with our remarkable children.
St Mary’s is a proud partner academy of SNMAT. Being part of this Trust is unlike working for others because they share our drive to provide the very best quality of education for our children. We are not bound by corporate colours or policies, meaning that your input could truly make a difference to our provision.
If you’re interested in working with us, then please call the school for an informal discussion with our headteacher and to arrange an appointment to look around.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and would expect anyone joining our school to share the same ethos. All candidates are subject to safer recruitment procedures. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
Application forms and further details are available via email office@stmarys.snmat.org.uk or from our website: www.stmarymagdaleneprimary.co.uk. All applicants should include supporting information which explicitly addresses the questions below, relating to the person specification:
• What are your career aspirations? How will this role enable you to achieve these?
• Loyalty: a career constraint, or an essential attribute?
• Which is most important: winning or taking part?
• Why would you make an effective sports coach?
• What’s your favourite sport and why?
Commitment to safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and would expect anyone joining our school to share the same ethos. All candidates are subject to safer recruitment procedures. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
