This is an exciting time to join Landau Forte Academy, Amington. We are a forward thinking, highly ambitions 11-16 academy on a mission to provide the highest quality education for our local community. Science is a fundamental subject for all students and our curriculum is designed to ensure equity for all students such that, irrespective of ability and individual needs, students gain the scientific literacy needed to be successful in the next steps of their study and employment. As our economy increasingly relies on STEM, we must ensure students develop these fundamental knowledge and skills. This exciting whole school role will support our students developing these skills.

  • Contract: Full time, permanent position

The successful candidate will:

  • Be ambitious, energetic and driven
  • Be an outstanding Science practitioner
  • Be able to evidence the impact their high quality teaching has had on progress and outcomes for GCSE students
  • Be confident in leading the development of STEM at a whole school level. This will include working with all faculties to identify golden threads within their curriculum areas to enhance the profile of STEM
  • Be committed to continued professional development, identifying opportunities for personal development which would support the Academy’s commitment to raising standards

Job specification

This whole school role is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher who is passionate about ensuring students develop STEM knowledge and skills throughout their time at the academy. The successful applicant will be passionate about developing a powerful learning experience for students, and is motivated by having a positive impact inside the classroom.

  • Support the ethos, values, and overall purpose of the Academy
  • Raise standards and the profile of STEM across the Academy
  • Ensure students develop the range of knowledge and skills to improve their employability
  • Lead the academy implementation for STEM, embedding a consistent approach to a range of STEM skills
  • Contribute to staff training through instructional coaching and the sharing of best practice and pedagogy
  • Develop links with external agencies, that can enhance the learning experience for students
  • Organise trips, workshops and enrichment activities Raising the profile of STEM through networking, liaison with external organisations, and within and across our academy
  • Enhancing existing relationships with local businesses and future employers
  • Ensure extra-curricular opportunities for our students linked with STEM
