Overall student outcomes in the school in partnership with the teachers concerned
Ensuring good pastoral care and personal development for students.
Presenting information and evaluation reports to the Head teacher, parents and governors, as requested
Arranging and promoting activities across the school to foster personal development, commitment and enthusiasm in students
Liaison with external agencies as required for pupils in the school
Key relationships/Functional links with:
(main relationships with people inside and outside the organisation that the post holder will come into contact with during the course of their work)

Main Purpose of Job:
To support the aims of the school by:
· Working with children and their families to promote their Health and Welfare and develop their potential
· Communicating and consulting with the parents of pupils
· Attending Child Protection case conferences; taking responsibility for Common Assessment Framework (CAF) Caseload
· Encouraging parents to enjoy the company of their children and respond to them in a positive and caring manner
· Assisting families in the signposting of services
· Making records of and reports on the personal and social needs of pupils
· Communicating and co-operating with persons or bodies outside the school; participating in meetings arranged for any of the purposes described above

Maintaining a focus on pupil welfare
· Work with colleagues and other external agencies
· Attend Child Protection case conferences, CAF reviews, staff meetings, training days, as required
· Ensure that service users are fully involved as possible in decisions which effect the individually
Exercising appropriate professional skills and judgement
Accountability for leading, managing and developing pupil welfare support across the school
· Create an atmosphere within school provision and homes in which parents/carers are encouraged to take responsibility for meeting the needs of their children and themselves
· Maintain confidentiality
· Promote equal opportunity, anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive policies and practices.
· Attend and deliver staff training and development courses as directed
· Report back and liaise with the Head teacher, Deputy Head, SENCo and other members of staff
Leading, developing and enhancing the support practice of others
Working with other relevant staff in the school:
Maintain personal expertise and share this with other staff
Lead on delivering Safeguarding training to other staff in school, as required
Act as a role model of good practice for other staff and children, modelling effective strategies with them
Monitor and evaluate standards of support, identifying areas for improvement
Plan and implement strategies to improve support where needs are identified
Identify staff development needs and co-ordinate these with those responsible for CPD in the school and deliver safeguarding training as required
Maintain accurate records on individuals as required
Follow the relevant procedures for ensuring that information and data is collected and recorded accurately thus enabling the production of reliable analyses and reports

The post holder will be required to comply with organisation’s policies and procedures.
