What skills and experience we're looking for

We are very excited to be recruiting for a Student and Family Support Worker to Greenwood School. 

The aim of this role will be to work with students and their families to support their learning and emotional needs. This will involve working in a variety of ways to build relationships and overcome barriers to learning and engagement. The role will include visiting students in their homes, working on a one to one basis with students both on and off the school site, small group work as well as supporting students in their lessons.

This post requires a flexible and resilient person with a great sense of humour, a good standard of literacy and numeracy, who relates well to others and is keen to make a difference to the prospects of the young people of the New Forest. 

What the school offers its staff

Greenwood is a Pupil Referral Unit serving the 9 secondary schools in the New Forest we have approximately 70 students on our roll at any one time and work with upwards of 50 students through our outreach programmes either in their mainstream schools or their homes. Students are referred to Greenwood for a variety of reasons including being medically unfit for school, emotionally vulnerable, at risk of permanent exclusion or because they have been permanently excluded from school.
