What skills and experience we're looking for

  • St Pauls Way Trust School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking Student Support Assistant to ensure that students follow the school’s high expectations, in and out of the classroom 
  • The successful candidate will support students both inside and outside the classroom underthe direction of class teachers and Student Achievement Co-ordinators.

    Key Tasks will include:

    • Being part of a team to support the implementation of the Behaviour for Learning Policy
    • Assisting with the smooth running of the school by supervising students throughout the day, paying particular attention to their safety and wellbeing before and after school
    • Supervision of the mid-day break and lunchtime
    • Modelling the behaviour expected for students at St Paul’s Way Trust School
    • Supporting staff with the delivery and implementation of identified interventions across the school
    • To follow up punctuality and attendance issues by liaising with students, ​​parents and the attendance team 


    The successful candidate for the role of Student Support Assistant will have:

    • A level 2 or equivalent qualification
    • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
    • The ability to work as part of a team and to develop and maintain positive relationships with teaching and support staff 
    • The ability to recognise and respond to the needs of children of different attainment levels
    • Lead, motivate and inspire pupils, support staff and to forge positive relationships
