Student Support Associate job summary
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated Student Support Centre Associate to support students learning across the school. As part of the team you will help to encourage students to participate in the academic and wider life of the school by having a significant role in their pastoral and wellbeing care.
You will assist in the re-integration of students referred to the Student Support Centre, this may include students that have been excluded from lessons or are working to a reduced timetable.
You will be expected to implement Nurture Principles so that vulnerable, anxious and challenging students are supported effectively throughout their time at the Academy. An open-door policy approach is to be actively encouraged.
You will be skilled at engaging and motivating students who have social, emotional and mental health barriers and will be helping them to engage through classroom and intervention support.
This role is about working with students, staff and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for our students who have SEMH difficulties.
Personal qualities should include, patience, understanding, flexibility when working with the students. You will need to be able to work independently and as part of the Inclusion Team. You will also need to be highly motivated and organised.
