What skills and experience we're looking for
We require a flexible and organized individual who: -
- Has experience of working in an office environment, preferably a school office.
- Has excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Has excellent ICT skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Has excellent organisational skills
- Has excellent communication skills to liaise with staff, students, parents/carers and external professionals.
- Has very good numeracy/literacy skills equivalent to GCSE C and above.
- A team player who is able to work collaboratively with others.

Further details about the role
We are seeking to appoint a resourceful and highly effective Student Support & Attendance Officer for this key role within our school. You will work alongside the Senior Leadership Team and Pastoral Team in supporting students who may have behaviour/attendance/truancy issues. You will have responsibility for ensuring students are attending school and barriers to learning are addressed and reduced.The role will involve daily monitoring of attendance, including First day response, carry out appropriate home visits, attend regular attendance meetings, facilitate parental meetings to encourage regular student attendance. You may also be required to supervise students with attendance issues in the classroom. You should have excellent SIMS experience and be able to produce detailed reports for SLT when required. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a school environment and have an understanding of the issues that may affect a student’s ability to attend school, although training will be provided for a suitable candidate with no experience but has the necessary skills
