Student Support Manager job summary

We are looking to recruit a Student Support Manager to lead the organisation and implementation of our internal exclusion provision. The ideal candidate will be an energetic and positive professional who can combine their passion for supporting young people with the ability to form positive relationships at the same time as maintaining high standards. It is likely that you will already have a proven track record of working with young people and supporting them to develop excellent behaviour and attitudes to learning.

• has the skills to work collaboratively with the teaching and support teams;
• can build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents;
• is willing to embrace or bring new ideas to the Academy;
• has ambition combined with a commitment to developing their own skills.

In return, the successful candidate will:

Inspire our students to succeed – be part of something special

Having converted to academy status at the heart of the L.E.A.D. Academy Trust in May 2017, Da Vinci Academy is a rapidly improved and successful secondary school with around 660 students and an increasingly full school roll. In summer 2019, we were proud to be the most improved Progress 8 school in Derby and this trajectory of improvement has continued. A student-centred philosophy is supported by an unwavering commitment to the achievement of successful outcomes for each and every young person. Together with the L.E.A.D. Academy Trust, a strong and clear vision is in place - one team, changing worlds. Our vision is achieved by our purpose of supporting all to Aspire, Believe, Learn, Achieve. This is what we firmly believe in and always strive for. The benefit of our close-knit academy community is a real team environment where people genuinely care for each other and where students and staff alike can really shine.

Our academy has a great achievement record and is loved by students with high numbers of families now applying to us as first choice. We are looking for someone to play their part in fostering and continuing to grow this unstoppable momentum. It is an exciting time at Da Vinci Academy, and you will be part of our future development and the journey to securing further improvement and ongoing drive to raise standards across all areas.
