STUDENT SUPPORT OFFICER
We are looking to recruit a flexible and diligent Student Support Officer to join our strong Student Services Team supporting students in the Secondary Phase of the College. The Student Services Team plays an active role in the College and support our Deputy Heads of School and Heads of House in dealing with student well-being and behaviour. Every member of the team helps to make a difference, helping students to enjoy their time at school and contributing to raising standards of achievement for all.
The Student Support Officer role is very rewarding, it is also extremely busy and varied, therefore the ability to spin several plates at once is essential. The successful candidate will need to build positive relationships with students, parents/carers and colleagues.
You will undertake the essential role of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and manage the EHA process, actively leading on child protection concerns / issues, working closely with external agencies and representing the school in a range of meetings with parents/carers, social workers and external agencies. Both excellent communication and organisational skills are vital to be successful in this role.
You will also take a lead role on managing student attendance and contribute to raising standards of achievement for all students. We are looking for an individual with robust administrative / IT skills who has a can-do attitude and possesses the ability to manage a very busy and often competing workload.
We are looking for a strong team player who will relish the opportunity to work with a range of students in a fast-paced school environment and who is passionate about providing tailored and dedicated support. Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
This is a permanent position working term time plus 5 training days.
The college uses support staff to carry out Midday Supervision and this has been particularly successful in managing student behaviour and helps to build positive relationships with students. We will also require applicants to work as a Midday Supervisor; a separate contract will be issued for each post.
Working Hours:
8:15am to 4:00pm (with a 45-minute un-paid lunch break)
Midday Supervision duties from 1:20pm to 2:05pm
Salary:
Student Support Officer (Grade 8)
Full-time salary (52 weeks) from £31,067 to £34,314 per annum
Term-time salary plus 5 days (32.5 hours per week) from £23,367 to £25,809 per annum
Midday Supervisor (Grade 5)
Full-time salary (52 weeks) from £24,790 to £25,584 per annum
Term-time only salary (3.75 hours per week) from £2,096 to £2,163 per annum

Hampton College is an established, successful, all-through school, which formed its own multi-academy trust (Hampton Academies Trust - HAT) in 2014. The Trust is also the education provider for the neighbouring secondary school, Hampton Gardens School and Hampton Lakes Primary School, which opened in September 2019. In 2020, Dogsthorpe Infant School joined our trust. HAT schools have very close links and some shared staff.
Hampton College currently serves the community of Hampton, on the southern outskirts of the city of Peterborough and has good links to Cambridge and Stamford. Hampton Gardens School serves the neighbouring Cambridgeshire village of Yaxley, as well new housing being added to the Hampton East development, where Hampton Lakes Primary School is located.

TEACHER OF GEOGRAPHY
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teacher with a passion for Geography, on a full-time basis.
You will be expected to contribute to the continued development of the Department’s curriculum. You should be able to communicate effectively with students and colleagues as well as having good organisational skills.
You should be a reflective practitioner, interested in developing your practice and trying out new strategies in your teaching. You will already be, at least, a competent user of ICT, and happy to learn more. Above all, we wish to appoint an imaginative and enthusiastic teacher, who will be keen to work alongside a team determined to create an excellent department and one keen to develop excellent relationships with students and staff.
You will have a passion for working with young people and you will relish the satisfaction that comes from helping them to develop and to learn.
