What skills and experience we're looking for
To support learning through the use of data, strategic intervention and monitoring in orderto maximise student attainment.
Main duties and responsibilities:
To monitor all students in the assigned year group, both academically and withbehavioural and pastoral issues;
Work closely with the Inclusion Co-ordinator, the Bridge and the Vice Principal DeepSupport on Intervention Strategies, targeting students for intervention and other issues which may present a barrier to learning;
To utilise the MIS system in order to track and intervene with serial internal truants orstudents who are consistently late for lessons;
To have emphasis on intervention and student tracking throughout the day using theacademy’s Praising Stars system;
Supervise breakfast, break and lunchtime;
To supervise students prior to formal examinations;
Record safeguarding incidents, including the production of reports on students for multi-agency meetings;
Be the first point of contact for behaviour related incidents and liaise with SLT regardingsuitable outcomes;
Attend and, where necessary, chair Children in Need and Team Around the Childmeetings, including the co-ordination of the minutes and future meetings;
Attend and actively contribute to the RAG meeting to ensure that students of concernare identified early and appropriate intervention actioned;
Analyse and interpret Praising Stars data on a half termly basis to produce Praising Starsintervention booklets and present these to SLT;
Support a member of the SLT at all readmission meetings;
Support out of academy activities including, organising the prom in Year 11/Year 13, residential trips, open/parents’ evenings, helping students with fund raising activities and complete trip and events packs including risk assessments;
Follow up intervention for students who receive multiple E4s at Praising Stars, includingphone calls home, meetings with parents and carers;
Undertake attendance checks for your year group and phoning parents/carers to clarifyreasons for absence;

Due to a rapid increase in numbers, following our January 2018 OUTSTANDING Ofsted Report, Outwood Academy Bydales seeks applications from applicants with integrity, imagination and energy for this rewarding role. Outwood Academy Bydales is an 11-16 school located in the beautiful coastal village of Marske-by-the-Sea, close to the North York Moors National Park. We are extremely proud of our tradition of serving the families of the community of Marske and surrounding areas. The academy has been part of Outwood Grange Academies Trust, nationally recognised as a high performing academy chain, since September 2014. Our predecessor Bydales School was in special measures and joined Outwood Grange Academies Trust in February 2015. Since then the school has rapidly transformed. In 2018, alongside our Outstanding Ofsted judgement, students achieved incredible results with 89% securing 4+ in both English and Maths. Our Progress 8 and Attainment 8 scores were both the highest in the North East of England, at +0.75 and 59.1 respectively. Likewise, 77% of students securing at least a 5 in both English and Maths, was also the highest in the North East in 2018
