Student Welfare Officer job summary

This is a job share role and you will be working 2 days per week - Monday and Tuesday 8am-4pm term time plus 1 additional day for staff training in September.

The successful candidate must be able to handle a variety of tasks quickly, effectively, and calmly, and be able to work to tight deadlines, having excellent organisational, administrative, personal and IT skills, and work collaboratively with the other colleague.

You will be the first point of contact in the school’s medical office on your working days, providing a highly efficient first aid service, dealing with staff, students, parents, and external agencies in a proficient, courteous, and professional manner.

You will be required to administer first aid and medication as required, as well as keeping and updating accurate records. You will also provide student mental health first aid triage.

Relevant first aid experience is essential, and up to date first aid training is beneficial. However, first aid training will be provided, including Youth Mental Health first aid training.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our College. In turn, we are looking for a candidate committed to playing a part in transforming the lives of our young people.

What we can offer you:

At All Saints Catholic College, we aim to create a happy workplace culture through promoting a healthy work/life balance. We do that by providing a package of flexible employee benefits, including:

  • An attractive pension scheme for both Teaching and Support staff.
  • A high-quality wellbeing package including medical cover, counselling, physiotherapy, fast track medical cover, care service and a 24 hour GP-helpline.
  • Care First Advice - a 24/7 information and counselling service.
  • We are part of the Cycle to Work scheme. Tax free bikes and safety equipment can be payable by payroll deduction through a partnership with Cyclescheme.
  • Free parking

Applications are invited from enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals who are able to work as part of the whole staff team, and who will support and uphold the Catholic ethos and practices of the school.

All Saints is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Therefore, we expect all workers, volunteers and employees to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including online searches and a satisfactory Enhanced Criminal Record with Barred List check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

It is an offence to apply for the role if an applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children (where the role involves this type of regulated activity).

A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.

Commitment to safeguarding

At All Saints Catholic College the highest level of safeguarding is practised in every aspect to ensure all students and staff feel safe. This enables our community to be able to thrive in a supportive environment within the College and to be able to raise any concerns with confidence of appropriate action.
