Student Welfare Officer job summary
The John Wallis Church of England Academy are seeking to appoint a Student Welfare Officer to join our Pastoral Team. The role is full time, term-time only.
A suitably experienced health care professional is required to support the well-being of students and staff and liaising with the families of the students in the Academy. The Student Welfare Officer can expect to be the first member of staff to be approached by students with problems of a first aid or medical nature.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced and flexible individual to combine nursing/healthcare expertise and administrative duties to ensure that the Academy meets its commitment to student welfare.
Skills and Experience - To be considered for the position:
• Hold a relevant medical qualification
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills - needed for prioritising and balancing a busy and varied workload.
• Experience of supporting pupils/students of differing abilities and backgrounds.
• Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form - for writing learning and support plans, reports on pupil/student progress, and training and guidance for staff.
• Excellent inter-personal skills.
