What skills and experience we're looking for
We are pleased to be offering the opportunity to lead our Music department.
The Music Department produces several impressive events each year and runs a range of ensembles, including rock band, choir, singing ensemble and orchestra. The team of visiting teachers provide lessons on piano, violin, brass, singing, guitar, bass guitar and drum kit. Results at KS4 are consistently 100% and the BTEC music course is well established. It has a well-resourced music room where all students have access to keyboards and Apple Mac computers running GarageBand. The course for both KS3 and KS4, encompassing listening, performance and composition, has been in place for a number of years and all pupils achieve a high level of skill. The department is supported at events by a keen pupil-led team and there is a real sense of pupil involvement.
