Subject Lead: Physics job summary

Due to the successful promotion of a current member of our Science team, we are looking for a talented, inspirational and dynamic teacher to lead on Physics as part of our engaging Science curriculum.

You will be working alongside a strong and committed Curriculum Leader and a supportive team including three experienced science technicians. The team work collaboratively and share a desire for an ambitious science curriculum to be at the forefront of our students’ education. As Head of Physics you will be in a job that will motivate and challenge you in equal measure. You will be leading the development of the Physics area of the Science curriculum, working with both experienced and early-career teachers, supporting them to develop their pedagogy and be the very best teachers they can be. You will work closely with our Curriculum Leader to deliver an ambitious and engaging Physics curriculum that inspires students to enjoy and study Physics from KS3 through to A level. We actively promote the importance of STEM subjects within the school and would expect the successful candidate to play a significant part in developing this area through our co-curricular activities program. The successful candidate would be able to teach Physics from KS3 through to A level, and ideally being able to teach all 3 sciences up to GCSE.

We have recruited very successfully in science in recent years and are looking to appoint a Head of Physics who has the vision and skillset to help lead a strong team in achieving the very best outcomes for all our students. We will work closely with you to support your career goals and offer high-calibre CPD and opportunities for future promotion within your subject and the wider school.
