The Governors of Holy Trinity School wish to appoint a dynamic, proactive candidate to the post of Subject Leader – Business Studies. The ability to teach KS3 Computing would also be beneficial. This post presents a good opportunity for an experienced practitioner to take on a leadership role in the successful and friendly Computing & Business faculty.
Applicants will need to demonstrate their commitment to the teaching of Business. We require practitioners who have the enthusiasm, skill and ability to make a positive contribution to this motivated team, including a willingness to set up enterprise links. The successful candidate will be committed to teaching across the 11-18 range, ideally having experience of teaching both A level and BTEC courses.
The Business department at Holy Trinity School is a forward-moving department which is keen to expand and develop the teaching of Business. The department forms part of the Computing & Business faculty although Business has an independent identity within this. We offer a range of courses including A level and BTEC Business, GCSE Business and BTEC Enterprise. GCSE Business is a popular subject and we currently have three GCSE groups. A level Business has good results allowing students to go on to secure places on Business and Economics degrees.
Applicants will need to demonstrate their commitment to excellent teaching and learning; to securing good or better outcomes for students; to developing student potential and to promoting the study of the subject in the 6th form. Those expecting to be paid at the upper end of the given pay range will need to evidence how that is merited in their application.
We offer:
• a salary in line with the school’s policies on Pay and Appraisal; a mentoring programme for NQTs; a comprehensive induction, and a good programme of CPL. Any full terms would count towards completion of an NQT year.
• Engagement of all teaching staff in the TEEP programme to enhance our teaching and learning in the classroom.
• Professional learning delivered for all stages of career development and supported through the LA and universities.
• A supportive, collegiate culture with open minds where your enthusiasm, commitment and passion for making a difference to the lives of our students, will be supported.
• an easy commute via public transport from Brighton, and from other parts of East and West Sussex and from Surrey. Many staff operate car share schemes and we have on site parking.
Visits to the school are welcome and can be arranged via HR. An information pack is available on request.
We are seeking candidates who will commit to upholding our values and ethos as a faith school; however, applicants do not need to be a practising Christian.
