Subject Leader for Business Studies and Vocational Learning TLR 2.1 job summary

We are looking to recruit an outstanding Subject Leader for Business Studies and Vocational Learning from September 2021. You will be a team player with a clear understanding of current and future curriculum developments.

We have expanded our vocational learning provision in the school and are looking for a member of staff with the experience to provide leadership and support to those delivering across these subjects. They include NCFE Technical award in Business and Enterprise, Cambridge National in Health and Social Care, and BTEC First in Sport. You will have responsibility for supporting each vocational subject with the quality assurance, assessment and standardisation processes relevant to these vocational qualifications.

Business and Enterprise has been a popular choice for KS4 students with over 90 choosing this option for September 2021.

Thamesmead is a vibrant and successful school. In 2019 our students gained strong GCSE results. 80% of students gained a 4 grade or higher in English and Maths and 57% of students achieved a grade 5 or higher in English and Maths. 81% achieved 5 GCSE's or more graded at 4 or above.

The School is situated to the West of London in attractive grounds within 300 yards of the River Thames, with good rail and road access. Our students attain high results in many areas of the curriculum and extracurricular activities are a strength of the school.
