Subject Leader for Drama job summary
We are looking to appoint a passionate and experienced teacher who is keen to take the next steps in their career and make a real difference as a middle leader. Drama is a vibrant and popular subject that students enjoy here at Thamesmead. They have a track record for achieving excellent outcomes in 2019 80% of students achieved a grade 9-6 in the subject, and 2 out of every 5 students achieving one of the top 9-7 grades. These strong results have been maintained throughout the teacher assessment process caused by the disruption of COVID 19.
The Drama department works closely with the Music and Dance departments to provide incredible and ambitious opportunities for our students to participate in productions and a broad range of extra-curricular activities. Our admissions arrangements mean that each year we offer up to 10% of our Year 7 cohort a place at the school based on their aptitude in Drama or Music.
Commitment to safeguarding
Thamesmead School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Employment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
