Subject Leader for Food and Nutrition, Health and Social Care Lead - Part Time 0.8 job summary

We are looking to recruit a part time subject leader for our Food and Nutrition and Health and Social Care Subject Area. This is a 0.8 role in the first instance with the potential to increase in future years. Students study Food and Nutrition in Year 7, 8 and 9 as part of the Design Technology subject rotation with dedicated time for the subject. Both subjects are very popular GCSE choices typically attracting two GCSE classes a year for Food and one class for Health and Social Care. Student motivation and engagement is strong. We offer low student to teacher ratios in food lessons to support safe practical learning and the subject benefits from the support of a dedicated technician. The successful candidate may be someone with the ambition to develop a Childcare Level 2 course as a possible alternative to the Health and Social Care Course for future cohorts. An ability to contribute to the teaching of other Design Technology subjects or Science would be an advantage.
