Subject Leader Music job summary
Music sits within the wider faculty of Creative Arts & Industries bringing together the five subjects of Art, Design Technology, Food, Drama & Music into one team where a desire to bring these subjects to life and develop students’ wider skills and interests drives the sharing of best practice and the trialling of new approaches. Within this refreshingly collaborative and team-focused culture, colleagues work together towards shared goals. Our aim, quite simply, is to make sure that student achievement and enrichment s at the very heart of everything we do.
Music is an important part of our curriculum and is highly valued. As Subject Leader, you will be an excellent classroom practitioner who is equipped to ensure high attainment and positive learning experiences for our students across key stages 3 and 4. You will hold high expectations and uncompromising ambition for our students, and you will value the contribution extra-curricular clubs, activities, performances and events can make in achieving. Our flash mob performances and end of term shows are a real hit with students, staff and our wider school family!
Following continued success over the last few years, the community trusts us to deliver an excellent education. In turn, we are working to develop Lode Heath as a learning hub for everyone in that community where the sharing of best practice is both encouraged and commonplace. As you support your students and team to thrive, we will support you to progress your career with us. The ongoing training and development of our staff is a key priority, which is why you’ll enjoy access to a wide range of CPD opportunities including NPQs and our own Trust-wide leadership development programme.
If you’d like to be part of our exciting future, you will need to share our belief in educating the whole person - and in helping every student, irrespective of their background or abilities, to build the skills, confidence and independence they need to thrive in higher education or the workplace.
