Subject Leader of Geography job summary
We are seeking to appoint an exceptional leader of Geography within a high performing department and thriving humanities faculty. The successful applicant will lead a team of practitioners that, through passion and commitment to their subject, supports students to achieve their potential and progress through all three key stages.
We seek an ambitious candidate with a clear passion and love for the subject and pedagogy in general. You will be an inspirational practitioner with a successful track record of raising student achievement and inspiring and developing others to do the same.
As a department delivering to all key stages you will hold subject knowledge and pedagogy in equally high esteem; you will be part of a team that is dedicated to supporting professional development in all areas and expects this to translate into outstanding student outcomes.
Geography and the wider humanities offer is incredibly popular with students of all ages and our commitment to positive working relationships based on high expectations, academic rigour, stretch and challenge are a critical part of our shared vision.
Applications from experienced teachers and existing middle leaders are welcomed.
Commitment to safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all children regardless of age, gender, religion or beliefs, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation or socio-economic background. All adults in our schools have a full and active part to play in protecting our children from harm, and that the child or young person’s welfare is our paramount concern. We ensure that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities in respect of safeguarding and is provided with appropriate training to recognise, identify and respond to safeguarding concerns relating to children and young people.
