Subject Leader of History job summary

We are seeking to recruit an exceptional subject leader for History with vision, drive and a passion for the subject
We are looking to appoint an inspirational Head of History, for January 2021 or earlier by negotiation, who shares our belief in the highest standards of academic progress. This is a rare opportunity to lead an excellent team of specialist History teachers in what has been a very successful department for years.
This is a crucial post and the successful applicant must have a proven track record of success, be an excellent classroom practitioner with proven classroom experience. The senior leadership team is dedicated to making History one of the school’s key priorities given the importance of the Ebacc basket to school outcomes

The successful applicant will be fully supported by being part of a well-resourced, forward thinking and supportive team, small group sizes at Key Stage 4 and will benefit from the school’s outstanding track record with continuing professional development. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to build on the excellent work of the outgoing Head of History, lead a strong and dynamic team of new History teachers, and play a strategic role in the evolution of Bishop Barrington School
