Are you an exceptional Maths teacher ready to make a genuine difference? We are seeking a creative leader to head our Maths department at Springwell Leeds Academy East Site.
This is more than a teaching job; it is an opportunity to empower vulnerable learners through "Unconditional Positive Regard."
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Curriculum: Oversee the implementation and delivery of Maths across the site.
Collaborate: Work closely with Subject Leaders at our other two Leeds sites to ensure academy-wide excellence.
Teach & Inspire: Deliver Maths up to GCSE level and support a team of non-specialist teachers in Key Stage 2 and 3.
Shape Futures: Create personalised pathways that prepare students for education, work, or training.
We provide a high-quality education for 340 students (ages 7-16) with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Operating from three brand-new, purpose-built facilities, we prioritise relationships, trauma-informed practice, and restorative approaches.
Who We Are Looking ForWhether you are an experienced leader or an outstanding teacher ready for your first leadership step, we want to hear from you. You will need:
A proven track record of exceptional practice.
The resilience and drive to work with pupils with complex SEMH needs.
Imaginative flair to engage students in essential life skills.
A commitment to diversity and inclusion in our school community.
Specialist Environment: Work in a "family" atmosphere where no two days are the same.
Professional Growth: We offer continuous professional development and future leadership opportunities as we grow.
Supportive Culture: Benefit from a team that is "resilient and caring."
If you want to:
Make a real difference to some of the most vulnerable students in the city
Work in state of the art facilities
Move away from some of the restrictions of a mainstream pathway
Teach with a focus on the whole child, not just narrow subject outcomes
We would like to hear from you!
